We all had appetizers my mom and I had the French Onion soup which was a large portion and it was outstandingly delicious. We arrived about 5 minutes early and they seated us right away. so we used their valet service which was great. It was raining really hard when we arrived for our reservation and the closest parking is about a block away (garage). My girlfriend and I took my mom here on her 85th birthday a few days ago. I want to try everything on the menu! Book on Open Table and they keep you updated regarding your reservation by email and text. Well worth it for the food, the service, the atmosphere and the mother-son time. A generous tip and the total bill Canadian came to just shy of $300. After all that food it was about $223 US. It we weren’t so stuffed from dinner, we would have had fun with a piece of cake but there was no chance. So big, in fact, the cake came with FOUR forks for sharing. During the course of dinner, we watched these HUGE pieces of cake being delivered to a few tables. The steak Kosar was a bit rich and saucy with the two sauces, bordelaise and bearnaise, but the asparagus and LOBSTER meat quickly and efficiently melted into those sauces for a decadent flavour profile that compares to no other. My son had the 8 oz filet and I had the Steak Kosar, and we had a side of garlic mash which we did not need but, hey, why not? The meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare for both and, even at 8 ounces, we struggled to finish them but didn’t want to waste a morsel. The Asian fusion drizzle on top was good enough to eat with a spoon! 👅 The freshly baked ciabatta and pretzel rolls were warm and delectable. I treated my son, who goes to OSU, to a fancy mother-son evening and we were not disappointed by one thing (even the cheque)! We started with 4 oysters on the half shell which were substantial and the accompanying condiments were perfect! Could have used some horseradish root with them but, hey, maybe that’s a Canadian thing! Then we had the calamari which were the best we have ever had. snowed in or not to even be able to make the trip 🤣. Moreīeautiful ambience and amazing wait staff is what you’ll get here! I made reservations here about a month prior to my planned arrival a) to actually get a table, and b) the Canadian weather makes it hard to predict if I was going to be. Simply, I believe an honest and objective review. Quite frankly for the the price the food should have been spot on and the service could have been a bit warmer. It was a very pleasant dinner in terms of atmosphere and conversation. We ordered a Creme Brûlée and a Butter Cake for dessert, both were good.

Our guests said their food was good, maybe it was maybe it wasn't. After we had dropped our friends off and I was discussing my meal with my wife she commented her fish was overcooked, but since we were with people she did not want to send it back either. Since we were with other people I decided to eat my steak as it was. It may have been on the special menu, but the server never shared. She did ask what fish they were serving that evening. The French Fries were perfect! My wife ordered the Halibut. It was cooked properly, it was served at a little below room temperature. I ordered the Steak with garlic and mushrooms, it looked great but it was not even warm. In no way were we rushed nor were we ignored. We like to dine slowly and I have to say the speed of service was perfect. (We ordered two and in no way were looking for a freebee). Nor, not does it matter, did he later offer them a free dessert. He asked if we were there for a special occasion and we told him we were there to celebrate our friend's 50th anniversary. He was a nice guy, but seemed to be playing the role more than sincere. Turned out weather wise, it was a perfect night. The food and service are consistently good, the patio is very enjoyable and we wanted a special place to take our friends. We chose to go there last night for a a few reasons. We have dined at the Hyde Parks around town for years.
